| How Do I Get
Blood? |
| Procedure To Procure Blood
|
| When you need blood, your doctor will
advise you to get a specific component in specific
quantity. If it is planned surgery you could have
some time at your disposal to intimate or book the
needed component with blood centre. You should visit
the blood centre with Doctor's prescription and
blood sample of patient for cross match purpose. |
| |
| How Do I Get Blood? |
| When you present doctor's prescription
and blood sample of the patient, depending on the
availability of stock, the Issue Desk takes your
sample and forward it to Cross match Desk. If you
are a regular blood donor, you should present your
'Donor ID Card' to avail applicable benefits. |
| |
| How Much Time It Will Take To
Get Blood? |
| It takes about 45 Minutes to 1
hours to cross match the blood sample and provide
you with needed component. When you need more than
1 component it may take little more time as various
technical and medial precautions are taken before
handing over the component to you. |

| Why Replacement Is Not Accepted?
|
| Lions Blood Bank doesn't accept
replacement with the donors. Replacement donations
are those donations where a patient brings a donor
to donate blood with blood bank. This donor could
be a paid or professional donor or some one close
to the patient and intend to hide some facts from
the medical examiner to procure blood component.
With this the blood donation could become riskier.
It is also highly unscientific and many developed
countries have discontinued this practice. |
| |
| Sample Pick Up & Delivery
|
| Lions Blood Bank offers the facility
of sample pick up and delivery of components from
distant hospitals. The patient need not come all
the way to blood centre. A nominal charge is levied
towards this service to accommodate the cost. With
this the patient could get needed blood component
without any hassle. Presently we offer this facility
to our Blood Storage Centers only but we may offer
the same to other hospitals as well on making prior
arrangement. |
| |
| Why Blood Testing Charge?
|
| Lions Blood Bank administers only
approved testing charges uniformly from all the
patients/ hospitals in the city. The blood testing
charges are controlled by government norms and no
blood centre could charge beyond the approved cost
norms. It could only recover the costs that it incurred
during the blood banking process with in these limits.
Lions Blood Bank follows international quality standards
in blood collection, processing and distribution.
These activities involve reasonable costs as most
of the equipment, and materials are imported for
this purpose. Within this cost Lions Blood Bank
manages to provide possible discounts to poor and
needy patients. |
