Objectives
  • Provide safe blood and components collected from voluntary donors, round the clock, at affordable cost to the general public and free of cost to the poor.
  • Ensure safety and quality of blood processed by automated testing facilities.
  • Motivate and maintain a permanent well-indexed record of voluntary blood donors.
  • Educating the community on the benefits and harmful aspects of blood donation.
  • Actively encourage voluntary blood donation and gradually eliminate professional blood donors.
  • Promote AIDS awareness and education to the general public.
  • Assists the Lions Clubs, Colleges, Public & Private Institutions and the Public to conduct voluntary blood donation drives and arrange for motivational talks to enable progressively increase the number of voluntary non-remunerated blood donors every year.
Goal
To wipe off the scarcity for blood and ensure availability of safe Blood and other blood Components from voluntary donors, round the clock, at affordable cost to the general public and free of cost to the poor. This is the least we do to alleviate human sufferings.

Geographical Area: Presently serving whole of Chennai city and its suburbs. Plan to extend to other neighboring districts of Tamil Nadu, India. Beneficiaries: Blood donors as well as all those who need blood and other components i.e. accident victims, surgical and maternity cases, cancer patients, patients with clotting defects etc.
  1. Society in general is not fully aware of the concept of blood donation. More motivation required in this area.
  2. Existing techniques in blood collection/processing/storage require up-gradation.
  3. Inadequacy of infrastructure to meet the demand for the improvement/change.

Making freely available safe blood and other blood components round the clock to the needy patients.
  1. Publicity, propaganda, motivational lectures/seminars etc for voluntary donors.
  2. Introduce facilities for spot collection of blood from offices, factories etc in emergencies causing no inconvenience to the valuable blood donors.
  3. Introduction of advanced blood processing system through hi-tech equipments
  4. Additional infrastructure to facilitate improved customer service, reduce customer waiting time etc.
